Rock climbing is the foundation to mountaineering.  It teaches you movement skills that will help in any mountaineering pursuit including skiing.  With the skills learned through movement, through rock climbing you will learn the basics of rope work and systems that can be applied in any mountain pursuit.   Since Colorado is home to ProVallone,  we can offer  some of the best rock climbing in the world; Eldorado Canyon, Boulder Canyon, the Flatirons, the Black Canyon, Rocky Mountain National Park, Lumpy Ridge, Rifle and just next door the splitter crack climbing of the Utah Dessert including Indian Creek, and the towers of the Castle Valley. We can customize trips to any of these locations and any of our trips can cater to a wide variety of skill levels.

If Europe suits your adventure may I suggest the  Chamonix Valley.  Chamonix offers endless stretches of amazing rock.   The high alpine spires that stretch high above the town and rise straight from the glaciers of the Mount Blanc Massif will be something to remember. Chamonix hosts some of the best Alpine Granite in Europe and will make you feel like you have truly left the civilized world behind.    In addition to the high alpine granite , the Valley hosts many multi pitch limestone walls and crags to suit any level.

Other favorite spots in Europe include, the Verdon Gorge where it is possible to do 500 meter  sport routes on some of the cleanest and most featured limestone in the world.  Not too far from here is the south of France where it is possible to climb in the Calaunqe.  This place positions you high over the Meditaranian Sea where it is possible to do multi pitch limestone routes right over the Sea.  If the sea is not your fancy, then the La Grave valley in the Ecrin National park hosts some long Alpine granite rock routes with amazing support in huts at the base of many famous spires.  Some classics of the park are the South Face of La Meije and the Dibona Spire.  There are many options in the Argentiere and Briancon Valleys for long multi pitch days on amazing limestone.
